About
Learning a foreign language can offer many exciting professional opportunities, among them international business, law, medicine, teaching, journalism, social work, and government, to name just a few.
It also has the unquestionable benefit that you learn more about your own language and culture.
Although learning a language can be work, the effort pays off quickly when you finally get to use it. Whether you enjoy talking, reading, or mastering challenges, you'll find all of them in learning languages. So, why wait? Register for the Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and take the first step.
Our department offers courses in French, German, and Spanish. The first two years (four courses) of each language are available if you need to fulfill a foreign language requirement or want to continue the study of a foreign language begun in high school.
The first course in first-year French, German, or Spanish (F100/G100/S100) has no prerequisites and may be taken by any student with an interest in learning another language.
The department also offers a Certificate in Hispanic Studies and a minor in Spanish.
