Chinese Studies
Offered at IU Indianapolis by School of Liberal Arts.
About
The Chinese program endeavors to set up a solid foundation for learning the Chinese language and acquiring an understanding of Chinese culture. In addition, the program helps to satisfy the Chinese-language requirements for majors in international studies focusing on China.
The Certificate in Chinese Studies consists of 18 credit hours in Chinese studies or related courses approved by the program director.
Certificate requirements include a minimum of 3 credits in Chinese language at the 200 level or above; a minimum of 3 credits in Chinese culture at the 300 level or above (either EALC E334 or E335); and the remaining credits in Chinese language, culture, history, and/or society.
Courses at the 100 level do not count toward the certificate, and you cannot double-count any course toward the 18 credits within the certificate.
