International Dentist Program (IU-IDP)
Offered at IU Indianapolis by School of Dentistry
About
With a median annual salary well into six figures and a projected job growth rate of five percent over the next decade,* practicing dentistry in the United States offers both professional fulfillment and financial stability. Many dentists also choose to specialize in areas such as orthodontics, oral surgery, or pediatric dentistry.
At Indiana University's International Dentist Program (IU-IDP), internationally trained dentists join second-year students in January as they begin their fourth semester of study. The program is designed to be completed in approximately 30 months.
Upon graduation, you will be prepared to take clinical board exams and either begin practice or pursue additional training.
To apply, you must submit your application through the American Dental Education Association's Centralized Application for Advanced Placement for International Dentists (ADEA CAAPID) and IU Graduate School. You also must successfully pass national board dental examinations and an English proficiency exam. Check the IU School of Dentistry's website for application deadlines.
