About

Realizing the potential of information

You can improve the quality and safety of medical care by learning how to better manage health information. Our one-year program is tailor-made for hard-working professionals: licensed physicians, nurses, and other members of the clinical health care team. You may take some or all of the classes for this 18-credit-hour certificate online.

Strong clinical informatics skills are key if you're seeking a leadership role working with information technology or workflow redesign, or want to improve engagement strategies for health care clinicians. Learn how information science and computer technology can enhance the practice of health care and make it more efficient.

Be ahead of the curve

Working in the Information Age means there are new government requirements, as well as legal and privacy concerns. The health care industry needs highly trained clinicians who truly understand information systems, and how to properly implement and maintain certified electronic health records. Health care information technology is an asset, and a resource. You'll learn how to properly use information to decrease medical errors, boost efficiency, and improve overall quality and patient outcomes.
