MLIS-Master of Public Affairs MPA Dual Degree
About
The Dual Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) / Public Management Certificate, offered through the School of Public and Environmental Affairs, is designed for students who are enrolled in the MLIS program and want to obtain organizational management skills through the SPEA certificate.
The certificate program is flexible enough to be adapted to the needs of both pre-career and in-service individuals. Career employees of public- and private-sector agencies seeking courses in public management, and especially those changing from professional or technical roles to managerial roles, will find the certificate program beneficial.
Students should apply to both programs, preferably within the same academic year. Application deadlines for the SPEA certificate programs are May 15 for the fall semester, Sept. 15 for the spring semester, and March 15 for summer sessions. Students must pay a nonrefundable application fee.
