MLIS-Philanthropic Studies MA Dual Degree
About
The dual MLIS–M.A. in Philanthropic Studies program is designed for the student seeking a management career with libraries and other nonprofit institutions.
Content includes gaining expertise in management of special library programs; fundraising and endowment management; capital project management; and leadership in academic, corporate, or large public libraries.
The program requires completion of a minimum of 51 credit hours of graduate coursework. Students must apply for admission to the master's programs of both the Department of Library and Information Science and the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy within the first academic year and meet the admission criteria established for each. The two degrees must be awarded simultaneously.
