MPA-Law JD Dual Degree
About
The MPA-J.D. dual-degree program allows you to earn both your Juris Doctor and Master of Public Affairs degrees simultaneously so you can jumpstart your career and start using your skills sooner.
The O'Neill School has partnered with the McKinney School of Law to create a program that provides an understanding of the legal and managerial framework of public service, nonprofit, and quasi-governmental agencies. The coursework behind this dual degree provides an additional level of expertise, giving you an edge as you guide organizations through the legal and public affairs-related ramifications of their decisions.
The program culminates in an in-depth research report focusing on a topic that brings together your legal learnings and public affairs training. As you write this report, you will be supervised by faculty members from both the McKinney School of Law and the O'Neill School to produce a paper showcasing the interwoven nature of our public affairs and legal systems.
