IU Executive Education provides graduate-level executive education programs from the O'Neill School at IU Indianapolis. These programs are designed to enhance the leadership and management skills of an organization's top employees and teams.
The Executive Master of Public Affairs (EMPA) is a 39-credit-hour professional program that provides the knowledge, networking, and interdisciplinary experience necessary to operate and manage public agencies and nonprofit organizations. Offered with a concentration in public management, the EMPA challenges you to explore critical social, political, legal, global, and administrative problems in public affairs.
This program focuses on:
- Strategic management in the public sector
- Recognizing and addressing ethical issues
- Law and its influence on the public sector
- Identifying various policy models and issues surrounding their application
- Applying statistical analysis to decision-making
- Analyzing executive leadership within public organizations
