Endodontics
Offered at IU Indianapolis by School of Dentistry
About
Endodontics includes diagnosing tooth pain, performing root canals, and carrying out other procedures aimed at saving teeth and relieving discomfort.
A specialty in endodontics can sharpen your hand-eye coordination, deepen your understanding of dental pulp disease, and position you among the nation's most skilled clinicians in preserving natural teeth.
Endodontists may also have the potential to earn more than general dentists due to the complexity of the services they provide.
In addition to enhancing your clinical practice skills through this program, you'll be qualified to teach.
This two-year program is designed for applicants who hold a D.D.S., a D.M.D., or an equivalent degree. Graduates earn a Master of Science in Dentistry along with a clinical certificate in endodontics.
Courses begin in July, and the plan of study includes didactic and clinical coursework, oral and written qualifying exams, and a research project.
You'll need to apply through the American Dental Education Association Postdoctoral Application Support Service (ADEA PASS). Check the IU School of Dentistry website for application deadlines and more specific program information.
