A new degree at IU Northwest, the Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science is one of the few forensic science degrees in Indiana, and one of a few in the country, that offers concentrations in Forensic Biology, Forensic Chemistry, and Criminalistics.
Join a growing and in-demand career in forensic science by focusing your education on applying scientific methods to matters of law, usually involving criminal cases. You will be able to choose from three concentrations:
- Forensic biology focuses on human body evidence, such as DNA analysis.
- Forensic chemistry is the application of chemistry to crime-scene evidence to help solve the crime, such as carpet fiber analysis or explosive analysis.
- Criminalistics focuses on the identification, collection, and analysis of physical evidence in criminal cases, such as fingerprint analysis or blood splatter analysis.
The School of Public and Environmental Affairs at IU Northwest also offers undergraduate degrees in Criminal Justice, Public Affairs, and Health Services Management.
