About
Students who pursue a major in elementary education will explore a variety of subjects including language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and professional education. Graduates have an incredible opportunity to teach young people academic and life skills that will impact generations to come.
The School of Education offers interested candidates a program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. The B.S. in Elementary Education leads to an Indiana teaching license for grades K-6. Candidates earning their B.S. degree are eligible to apply for licensure in Kentucky upon meeting state testing requirements.
The program has five content areas: English as a new/second language, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
