A Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education enables you to become licensed by the State of Indiana to teach students in grades K-6 in both general education and special education settings.
This degree offers a broad range of experiences that will prepare you for the challenges and opportunities of teaching elementary students in the 21st century.
In this program, you will learn the foundations of development, instruction, classroom management, and how to measure growth. You will learn how to effectively meet the needs of students and have an understanding for amending and modifying individualized programs. You will gain proficiency in understanding research-based instructional methods aligned to the Science of Reading, including assessment and intervention. Additionally, you'll be able to provide content-specific instruction in English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, fine arts, health, wellness, and physical education.
During your education, you will also have the opportunity to work with kindergarten through grade six students and teachers.
